Request
Application by Upland Planning & Design, on behalf of the property owner, requesting a substantive amendment to a previously approved building (involving changes of the look, orientation, landscaping, and amount of parking) at 910 Bedford Highway, Bedford.
Proposal
The applicant wishes to construct a mixed use, multi-unit dwelling at the site. The major aspects of the proposal are as follows:
- Eleven (11) storey mixed-use, multi-unit building;
- 48 residential units (40 - 1 bedroom units and 8 - 2 bedroom units)
- 1,616 square metres of commercial space;
- 2, 796 square metres of office space; and
- 89 interior and 17 exterior parking spaces.
The Development Plans (provided below) outline the development proposal in detail, and include information related to the design and scale of the proposed building, traffic impacts, parking locations, driveway access, and landscaping.
The existing development agreement was approved by Community Council in 2006 and the property owner would like to update the building design. For reference the existing agreement can be found below.
Process
The application will be considered under the development agreement process.
Status
Currently this application is at the review team stage of the process where the request is reviewed by internal municipal staff from Development Engineering [including Traffic Services], Building Standards, Civic Addressing, Fire Protection Services, and Parkland Planning as well as externally by Halifax Water.
