NOTICE OF In-Person Public Hearing

Request
Application by ZZap Consulting Inc., on behalf of Hartie Investments Inc., has a applied for a development agreement for senior citizens housing at 9 Crestfield Dr. in Hammonds Plains.
Proposal
The applicant wishes to construct senior citizens housing in the form of a 29-unit multiple unit dwelling, and four 6-unit townhouse dwellings. The major aspects of the proposal are as follows:
- One 3-storey apartment building containing 29 dwelling units
- Five (5) single-storey townhouse blocks - two blocks containing 6 townhouse units and three blocks containing 4 townhouse units for a total of 24 townhouse units);
- Outdoor community amenity spaces that include a community garden and recreation space
- A community rec house that will be used for indoor recreation activities, community events or gatherings and will include a guest suite.
- Newly constructed privacy fencing for the cemetery that abuts the development
The Development Plans (provided below) outline the development proposal in detail, and include information related to proposed buildings, parking locations, driveway access, traffic impact, and landscaping.

Notice of In-Person Public Hearing
A public hearing will be held by North West Community Council on Monday, February 13, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Margret’s Bay Community Centre (St. Margret’s Bay Arena) in Multi-Purpose Room at 12 Westwood Blvd, Upper Tantallon.
All oral and written submissions will be considered at that time. Written submissions are welcomed and encouraged in advance of the hearing itself. These submissions are distributed to all Councillors and considered at the time of their decision. Written submissions may be forwarded to the Municipal Clerk by e-mail; by fax, 902-490-4208; or by mail, P.O. Box 1749, Halifax, Nova Scotia, B3J 3A5. Written submissions must be received by the Municipal Clerk’s office as early as possible and not later than 3:00 p.m. on February 13, 2023. Please allow sufficient time for delivery.
