Application for a development agreement to allow a commercial recreation use (The Little Gym of Halifax) at 5 Bridle Path in Hammonds Plains.
The subject property is located at 5 Bridle Path in Hammonds Plains. The property is zoned MU-1 (Mixed Use) under the Beaver Bank, Hammonds Plains and Upper Sackville Land Use By-Law and designated MUB (Mixed Use “B”) under the Beaver Bank, Hammonds Plains and Upper Sackville Municipal Planning Strategy.
The applicant owns a business, “The Little Gym of Halifax”, which occupies up to 2000 square feet of floor area in the existing building. The business received a permit for this use in the spring of 2020. The applicant wishes to expand the use throughout the rest of the main floor of the existing building on this property. The major aspects of the proposal are as follows:
- Expand from 2000 square feet of floor area to 4000 square feet of floor area.
- Expansion is internal to the existing building; no further additions are proposed at this time.
The Development Plans (provided below) outline the development proposal and include information related to the existing building location, parking locations, driveway access, and landscaping.
The application will be considered under the Development Agreement Process
This application was presented to North West Community Council on February 28, 2022 for First Reading and approved by North West Community Council at the public hearing on April 4, 2022. The appeal period has closed and no appeal were filed. The Development Agreement will be effective when all parties have signed the agreement.
