Application by Eric Bannerman et al. to amend the Eastern Passage/ Cow Bay Land Use By-law to rezone part of the property at PID #41498973 Cow Bay Road, Cow Bay from P-2 (Community Facility) Zone to RA (Rural Area) Zone to construct a single- family dwelling.
Proposal
The subject property for the proposed partial rezoning is located at PID #41498973 Cow Bay Road. The property is designated Rural Area (RA) in the Eastern Passage/ Cow Bay Municipal Planning Strategy (MPS) and is zoned P-2 (Community Facility) Zone under the Land Use By-law (LUB).
The applicant is seeking the rezoning to construct a single detached dwelling in the P-2 zoned portion of the property.

Process
The application will be considered under the Rezoning process.
Status
Adjacent property owners will be notified of the planning application. A sign has been posted by the applicant on the subject site advertising the rezoning request. Staff will undertake a detailed review of the application and undertake public consultation prior to sending a recommendation report to Harbour East - Marine Drive Community Council. Prior to any considerations on this matter, Harbour East - Marine Drive Community Council is required, under the Halifax Regional Municipality Charter, to hold a Public Hearing. At that time, an additional opportunity for public feedback is provided. Notices of the date, time and location of the Hearing will be advertised in the future.
