Request

Sunrose Land Use Consulting is applying to rezone the lands at PID #40064875 on Youth Camp Road, Bayside (former Bayside Youth Camp).

Proposal

The proposal is to subdivide the former Bayside Youth Camp for the purpose of developing a single unit dwelling. However, the applied Community Facility (P-2) Zone does not permit a single unit dwelling and therefore a Planning Application process is required. The subject property is currently designated the Rural Residential E (RRE) in Planning District 4 (Prospect) and the proposal is to change the applied Community Facility (P-2) Zone to the Rural Residential E (RRE-1) Zone. Documents have been submitted for the proposal (provided below).

Process

The application will be considered under the Municipal Planning Strategy Amendment and Rezoning process.

Status

On November 8, 2022, Halifax Regional Council conducted first reading to consider the proposed amendments to the MPS (Municipal Planning Strategy) and LUB (Land Use By-law) for Prospect (Planning District 4).

The public hearing will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. at Halifax City Hall (Council Chamber), 1841 Argyle Street, Halifax. All oral and written submissions will be considered at that time. Get information on how to sign up to speak in advance.
