NOTICE OF APPROVAL

TAKE NOTICE THAT, as per Section 245 of the Halifax Regional Municipality Charter, a Development Officer of the Halifax Regional Municipality did, on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 approve the Amending Development Agreement to allow for the creation of additional surface parking at 60 Armstrong Court, Halifax.

The appeal period for this application has closed and no appeals were filed with the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board.

Request

Application by WM Fares Architects, on behalf of the property owner, requesting a non-substantive amendment to the existing Development Agreement applied to 60 Armstrong Court, Halifax, to increase the amount of surface parking.

Proposal

The Proposed Site Plan (provided below) outlines where the additional surface parking is requested to be approved.  

The existing development agreement was approved by Community Council in 2020.  For reference the existing agreement can be found below.

The application was considered under the non-substantive development agreement process.

This application was reviewed by municipal staff. The community engagement process was consistent with the intent of the HRM Community Engagement Strategy. The level of community engagement was information sharing, achieved through providing information and seeking comments through the municipal website and signage posted on the subject site. A public information meeting and public hearing are not required for a non-substantive amendment to a development agreement. The decision on the amendment has been made by the Development Officer.
