Housekeeping Amendment initiated by staff to amend the R-2P Zone under the Halifax Mainland Land Use By-law to clarify the side, rear and flanking yard setbacks, as well as separation requirements.
This is a staff initiated housekeeping amendments to deal with inconsistencies pertaining to setbacks in the R-2P Zone. The amendments will clarify the following:
● Inconsistent cross referencing between setback and separation distance requirements.
●confusing cross referencing between front and rear yard setbacks.
● addition of wording to clarify flanking yard setback.
Staff have reviewed the proposed amendments in terms of all relevant policy criteria and advise that they are reasonably consistent with the intent of the MPS. The amendments can be viewed in the Staff Report.
The application is being considered under the land use by-law amendment process. The amendment process will include a public hearing.
Halifax and West Community Council considered a Staff Report on July 25, 2017 and gave First Reading to the amendments as well as scheduled a Public Hearing for September 12, 2017.
