Motion: 
That the Board of Police Commissioners for the Halifax Regional Municipality:

1. Adopt in principle the proposed police performance metrics, as outlined in Attachment 1 of the staff report dated January 26, 2026;

2. Request Halifax Regional Police (HRP) and Royal Canadian Mounted Police Halifax Regional Detachment (RCMP HRD) to, as a pilot and where possible, jointly produce the police performance metrics as outlined in Attachment 1 of the staff report dated January 26, 2026, and to report to the Board any issues and challenges that may arise; and

3. Delay formal adoption of the police performance metrics until (1) there is alignment with HRP and RCMP HRD on the police performance metrics that are produced; and, (2) the Board’s and HRP’s strategic planning process is complete to ensure that the police performance metrics suitably measure progress toward the strategic goals of each plan.
