Municipal campaign school

The Government of Nova Scotia is partnering with Sea Change CoLab to offer three interactive campaign schools across Nova Scotia. During the campaign school workshops, participants will: 

  • hear from diverse local councillors about the realities of the work;
  • gain knowledge on getting nominated, building your team, fundraising and running a campaign;
  • practice networking, clear communication and planning next steps; and
  • identify supports and resources available to potential candidates.

While no in-person sessions are being offered within the Halifax Regional Municipality, prospective candidates in the municipality can virtually attend the following session:

Candidate information sessions

Residents of the municipality interested in running in the 2024 Municipal and Conseil scolaire acadien provincial (CSAP) Election this fall are invited to attend candidate information sessions.

These sessions are designed to help equip candidates for Regional Council and the CSAP school board with important information and resources about running for public office in the 2024 Municipal Election.
