Motion:
That the Community Planning and Economic Development Standing Committee rescind the additional motion for item 12.1.1 from the January 16, 2020 CPED meeting which requested a staff report as follows:
“THAT the Community Planning and Economic Development Standing Committee:
1. Request a staff report regarding options and opportunities for a long-term program for complete streets and streetscaping for the suburban commercial main streets in the urban service area outside the Regional Centre which updates the rationale and priorities for projects, and establishes stable long-term funding; and
2. That staff review the letters received and consult with from the suburban Business Improvement Districts in development of the program.”

Motion:
That the Community Planning and Economic Development Standing Committee recommend that Regional Council approve the Seniors Recreation Services Plan, as attached to the staff report dated April 10, 2026 as Attachment 1, for implementation.
8.2 Transom Drive Park Plan [PDF] (Large Size 14 Mb)
Motion:
That the Community Planning and Economic Development Standing Committee recommend that Halifax Regional Council:
1. Adopt the Transom Drive Park Plan as a guiding document to guide future improvements for Transom Drive Park; and
2. Direct the Chief Administrative Officer to consider the prioritization of the improvements identified within the Transom Drive Park Plan within future business plans and capital budgets.

Motion:
That the Community Planning and Economic Development Standing Committee recommend that Halifax Regional Council direct the Chief Administrative Officer to expand the scope of the community engagement program of the park planning project for the Memorial Library/Grafton Park site to include consultation about the value of the Memorial Library building and return with a staff report to Regional Council as set out in the Discussion Section of the staff report dated May 12, 2026.
