The Permit & Planning Status Map includes various PPL&C (Permitting, Planning, Licensing & Compliance) permit and planning application datasets. It encompasses Building Permits, Construction Permits, Engineering Permits, Halifax Water Permits, Issued Public Works ROW (Right-of-Way) Permits, Land Use Approval Permits, and Planning & Subdivision Applications.
Statuses of permits include from submission through to issuance and completion. Permits can be viewed and filtered based on the following statuses:
- ‘Issued Permits’ contain permits with a current status of issued, amendment requested, amendment application incomplete, amendment review, & amendment applicant revisions. These permits have been issued, may have open amendment reviews pending, but the work approved through the permit has not been completed.
- ‘Under Review Permits’ contain permits with a current status of submitted, application incomplete, applicant revisions, in review, ready for issue. These permits have not been issued.
- ‘Completed Permits’ contain permits with a current status of completed. Permit activity is completed, and the Certificate of Occupancy or Certificate of Completion has been issued.
- ‘Inactive Permits’ contain permits with a current status of cancelled, withdrawn, expired or stop work.

Planning & Subdivision applications can be viewed and filtered based on the following statuses:
- ‘Under Review PPL&C Planning & Subdivision applications contain applications with a current status of Applicant Revisions, Findings, Hearing/Meetings, In Applicant Review, In Review, or Recordation.
- ‘Completed PPL&C Planning and Subdivision Applications’ contain applications with a current status of Approved or Denied.
