Halifax Water is advising residents that water service will be interrupted on Herring Cove Road from Glenora Avenue to Old Sambro Road from 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 7th, 2017 to 6:00 am Friday September 8th, 2017 to allow for a watermain renewal.
In advance of this planned water service interruption, residents/businesses within the zone noted above should store enough water for use during the shutdown period, and as a precautionary measure, turn off their hot water tank. Customers with a sprinkler service should consult their service provider regarding the overnight water shutdown. After water service is restored, some customers may experience temporary discoloured water. Running cold water lines will clear water.
This work will require partial lane closures. Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site for lane drops near the Punch Bowl Drive and Herring Cove Rd intersection, and the Layton Rd and Herring Cove Rd intersection. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure improvement work may cause.
