Police continue to investigate the homicide of Nathaniel Maurice Brown

Today marks the third anniversary of the homicide of Nathaniel Maurice Brown.

On February 4, 2023, at approximately 11:20 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting on Lahey Road in Dartmouth. Officers located 36-year-old Nathaniel Maurice Brown outside of a residence who had been shot. Nathaniel was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service conducted an autopsy and ruled the death a homicide.

The Integrated Criminal Investigation Division continues to investigate the case.

Investigators do not believe that this was a random incident and believe there are people who have information that could help solve Nathaniel’s homicide. Anyone with information is asked to come forward; even the smallest piece of information could be the key to progressing the investigation into Nathaniel’s homicide. Nathaniel’s case is part of the Nova Scotia Department of Justice Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program which offers cash rewards of up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for specified major unsolved crimes. The amount of the award will be based on the investigative value of the information provided.
