Attention motorists, Sackville Trenching, on behalf of Halifax Water, will be installing new water mains on Warren Street between Dudley Street and Claremont Street, (see attached map).
Work will get underway tomorrow (Wednesday, May 2nd). The duration of construction is three weeks, weather permitting. There will be local traffic only on Warren Street between Dudley Street and Claremont Street. The streets will be open to traffic evenings and weekends.
Related work will require the one-day closure of Claremont Street between Connolly Street and Stanbury Street. This closure will take place tomorrow (Wednesday, May 2nd). There will be local traffic only in the work zone.
The hours of work will be Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., with evenings and weekends as required. Sidewalks will remain open.
Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
There will be two daytime water shutdowns to a limited amount of customers to allow for valve installations. Those effected will receive written notice prior to any shutdowns.
We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure improvement work may cause.
