In partnership with the Province of Nova Scotia, the municipality applied a selective herbicide to Little Albro Lake in September 2024. While this application was successful in significantly reducing the yellow floating heart population in the lake, some living plants remain.

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that the Vincent Coleman ferry will return to service at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, May 19. The Alderney ferry will then operate on its usual schedule of every 15 minutes on weekdays, from 7 a.m. to 8:15 p.m.
