UPDATE: On June 16, Halifax Regional Police charged a 39-year-old woman from Halifax, with Assault Causing Bodily Harm and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. The woman has been released with conditions and will appear in Halifax Court on August 20, 2019. All other persons originally arrested have been released without charges. Police are not looking for any other suspects at this time.

Members of the Halifax Regional Police General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are investigating an assault with a weapon that occurred earlier this morning in Halifax. At approximately 1:25 a.m., Halifax Regional Police patrol members responded to the McDonalds restaurant on Kempt Road, Halifax to a report of an altercation in the parking lot involving pedestrians and vehicles.

At 1:30 a.m., police located a 25-year-old woman suffering from stab wounds at the QE II Hospital. Investigators learned she was involved in the original altercation in the Kempt Road parking lot. Investigators also learned of a second disturbance that occurred prior to 1:25 a.m. at a business in the 3200 block of Kempt Road. Two men and two women are currently in police custody.

Forensic Identification members are currently on scene at the restaurant on Kempt Road and in the 3200 block of Kempt road. The victim remains in hospital seeking treatment for non-lif- threatening injuries. This matter is in the early stages of the investigation and limited details are available at this time.  Investigators are asking anyone who has information on this incident to call police at 902-490-5020.
