The Halifax Common Skatepark is temporarily closed while the facility undergoes a complete replacement.
The new skatepark will be constructed using cast-in-place concrete and will incorporate granite features designed to accommodate a wide range of skating styles. The project also includes upgraded lighting and landscaping improvements.
In 2025, a series of design workshops were held with skatepark users and stakeholders to help shape the new facility. These sessions informed the concept rendering shown above. While some elements were refined during the detailed design phase, the rendering remains a good representation of the overall look and feel of the new skatepark.
Construction is expected to take approximately one year. Project timelines may be adjusted based on weather conditions and construction progress.
