Fathom Studio is applying to enter into a development agreement to allow a mixed-use development at 893 Sackville Drive, Middle Sackville.
Proposal
The applicant wishes to build a mixed-use development made up of one 5-storey building. The major aspects of the proposal are as follows:
- One 5-storey building with 47 residential units;
- Approximately 1275 square feet of ground floor commercial space;
- Shared amenity space for residents; and,
- One level of underground parking and one surface parking lot;
The Development Plans (provided below) outline the development proposal in detail, and include information related to proposed buildings, amenity spaces, parking locations, driveway access, and landscaping.
Process
The application will be considered under the Development Agreement Process.
Status
The proposal is currently being reviewed in detail by staff and other agencies. Next steps will include working with the applicant to incorporate feedback received from the review and consulting with the public to provide feedback and ask questions about the application.
Upon completion of the public engagement stage a proposed development agreement will be prepared and reviewed by the review team and the applicant. Once the proposed agreement is agreed upon by all parties the planner will prepared a staff recommendation report to North West Community Council that will guide Council in their decision to approve or deny the application following a public hearing. The decision is appealable to the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board.

The applicant has submitted plans and studies required by HRM staff to properly evaluate the application. The documents are also available for review at the Planning Applications office at 5251 Duke St, 3rd Floor, Suite 300, Duke Tower, Halifax.
