The applicant has applied to enter into a development agreement for a property located at 6421 Cork Street to add a 3-storey addition at the rear of the existing building. The addition consists of a one level of open-air parking with two suspended stories above. The intent is to expand the Prayer Hall on the second floor and dining area on the third floor.

The major aspects of the proposal are as follows:

  • Three (3) storey addition to the rear of the existing structure
  • Ground level kept open to provide for on site parking (8 spaces)
  • Second level (above parking) to add additional space for Prayer Hall
  • Third level to add additional dining area

The Development Plans (provided below) outline the development proposal in detail, and include information related to the proposed addition, parking locations, and driveway access.

Process

The application will be considered under the Development Agreement process. 

Status

The application has now been distributed for an internal staff review to make sure the proposed addition meets the various policies and bylaws of the Halifax Regional Municipality. 

Documents Submitted for Evaluation

The applicant has submitted plans and studies required by HRM staff to properly evaluate the application. The documents are also available for review at the Planning Applications office in Downtown Halifax.
