On August 7, at 3:25 a.m., officers responded to the Bloomfield Center located at 2786 Agricola Street in Halifax, after receiving a call from security regarding two youths causing property damage to the building. Upon arrival both suspects attempted to flee the area on foot but were later arrested after a brief foot chase with the assistance of the police K-9 unit. During the arrest, one of the youth assaulted one of the arresting officers resulting in minor injuries. Both suspects, ages 18 and 16, are being held to attend court this morning on charges of property damage, assault police, assault with a weapon and resisting arrest.
