UPDATE - September 21 - 5 p.m. 

At this time the 75 year old resident is still in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspects are described as a white man, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a black hoodie, jeans and a blue/grey bandana over his face. The second suspect is a white man, slightly shorter than the other suspect, also wearing a black hoodie and jeans. At this time the investigation is still ongoing.

On September 21, at 2:38 a.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a break and enter in progress. Two male suspects had broken into a residence 0 -100  block of Bonita Drive in Dartmouth. The resident, a 75-year-old man, awoke to a commotion in his residence. He  confronted the suspects and was hit over the head, causing an injury to his head and face. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries. The victim’s wife was also in the home but she was not injured. Several firearms were taken from the residence.

The suspects fled the house on foot from. Only description of the suspects is males, wearing hoodies.

The Forensic Identification Section and the Integrated General Investigative Section investigators are currently continuing the investigation.
