On February 21 at 2:51 a.m., RCMP Sackville detachment attempted to pull over a vehicle. The vehicle failed to stop and they became involved in a pursuit. The pursuit made its way down highway101, up the magazine hill and into the East Division where HRP East units joined in to assist. The pursuit was called off due to the speed of the vehicle and icy driving conditions. Officers, assisted by a K-9 unit area located the suspect vehicle into a guard rail on Windmill Road. Two men were spotted running from the vehicle, one of which was immediately apprehended, and the second after a successful K-9 track. A 19-year-old man and an 18-year-old man were taken into custody and will appear in Dartmouth Provincial court today on charges of flight from police, leaving the scene of an accident, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possession of break tools, possession of stolen goods and breach of court orders.
