On June 7, A resident of Joan Eleanor Drive in Dartmouth woke up at 4:45 a.m. to find someone in his home. The perpetrator fled the house without incident. Responding officers discovered several cars in the neighborhood had been entered and another home that had been broken into on nearby Patricia Lynn Drive, where the homeowner confirmed three firearms had been stolen. Potential suspects were spotted in the area a short time later and after a lengthy period of officers (including HRP K-9 units) tracking suspects through both wooded and residential areas, three males were taken into custody without incident, two on Portland Street and one on Regal Road. The three stolen firearms were located in a nearby wooded area following the arrests. A fourth (female) suspect was taken into custody a short time later. The four remain in custody as the matter remains under investigation by The HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigative Section. The three males are young adults while the female is a youth. Charges are anticipated.
