On June 19, at 11:30 p.m.. officers responded to a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian at the intersection of Portland Street and Alderney Drive in Dartmouth. According to witnesses at the scene, the driver of the vehicle had proceeded through a red light and struck a 25-year-old male who was in the crosswalk. The pedestrian was taken to hospital by ambulance for what are believed to be minor injuries. The driver of the vehicle, a 56-year-old man, was issued summary offense tickets for failing to stop at a red light and failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
