On July 4, 2:00 p.m. Halifax Regional Police officers responded to the 100 block of Highfield Park Drive in Dartmouth for a report of a man with a rifle. Officers located a 26-year-old man that was in possession of a pellet rifle. As a result of the interaction with this man, a search warrant was prepared and executed at his residence, an apartment also located in the 100 block of Highfield Park Drive. Officers seized several firearms and ammunition from the apartment . The suspect is currently in police custody and will be appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date to face numerous firearms related charges.
