On July 28, at 7:50 p.m., members of the Halifax Regional Police responded to an assault on Gottingen Street at Cornwallis Street. Two males began fighting and the victim was knocked to the ground the suspect then jumped on his head multiple times, the suspect fled the area and was arrested a short time later. The victim, a 34-year-old man from Halifax, was transported to the QE2 with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The accused a 29-year-old man from Halifax will appear in court later today to face charges of Assault Causing bodily harm and Aggravated Assault.
