15-66963 - Robbery

On May 19, at 5:03 a.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to the Needs Convenience Store at 33 Herring Cove Road in Halifax for a report of a robbery. Two male suspects entered the store – one carrying a handgun and the other a crow bar and demanded cash and cigarettes. The suspects were given cash and cigarettes and fled in a silver mid size car with rust on the bottom of the doors, which was seen driving up Withrod Drive.

The lone female clerk was not injured but was grabbed by the suspects and forced around the store. The suspects were described as white males, slim builds and wearing hoodies and masks on the lower part of their faces. One suspect was wearing a reflective traffic vest. The handgun was described as silver with a wooden handle. FIS members attended the scene and the investigation will be handled by the GIS Section.
