8th Annual Cole Harbour Harvest Festival

Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – Residents are invited to attend the 8th annual Cole Harbour Harvest Festival this Friday, Sept. 11, and Saturday, Sept. 12, featuring a variety of family events in and around Cole Harbour Place.

The fun gets underway at 6 p.m. Friday with live music, a food truck party, an outdoor showing of the movie “ET” and fireworks at 10 p.m. in the back parking lot of Cole Harbour Place. Saturday kicks off with a free pancake breakfast at 9 a.m., a farmer’s market, health fair, face painting, a visit from the municipality’s Try-A-Ride program and of course the Grand Street Parade at 10 a.m.

Motorists travelling through the area on Saturday morning are advised there will be rolling street closures as the parade moves through. The route will proceed west on Colby Drive, north on Cumberland Drive, north on Forest Hills Drive, past Cole Harbour Place and east on Auburn Drive, where it will disperse at about noon. RCMP will be on hand to assist with traffic control.

Following the parade, the main stage will host a variety of shows, including multi-cultural entertainment groups, live music by award-winning international recording artist, Asif Illyas, and a celebrity chef cook-off.
