On July 4 at 7 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a physical disturbance in the 30-40 block of Joseph Young Street, Dartmouth. Upon arrival a group of approximately 20 people began to disburse.
During the disturbance, a 34-year-old woman was sprayed with bear spray. A 27-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and will face charges of assault with a weapon and possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose. This woman will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on October 27 at 930 a.m. Both women were known to one another. The victim was treated by EHS at the scene and released.
