At approximately 4:45 p.m. Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a stabbing in the area of Gottingen Street and Falkland Street in Halifax. On arrival police located a 38-year-old man with stab wounds to his hand. The victim informed police that he had been involved in a dispute with a man near the intersection of Gottingen Street and Cogswell Street, Halifax. During this dispute the suspect produced a box cutter and swung it at the victim, striking him in the hand. Police were able to obtain a suspect name and description from the victim. The victim was transported to hospital by EHS paramedics for treatment.  At approximately 4:52 p.m. a 31-year-old man from Halifax was located and arrested by police in the area of Divas Lane and Adams Avenue, Halifax, and he will appear in court on Wednesday February 22 to face weapons and assault charges.
