At 1:45 a.m. on Sunday, February 12 an East Division member was dispatched to the 100 Block of Nova Court in Dartmouth in response to a report of a man running around the area in his underwear. The officer made contact with the male and transported him to a nearby ambulance. The officer helped the male into the ambulance and stood by while he was treated by paramedics. The man suddenly became agitated and assaulted a paramedic and the attending officer. The man was eventually subdued and restrained by police in the rear of the ambulance.
The Paramedic was not injured and the officer was treated for minor injuries in hospital and released. The investigation into the actions of the 24-year-old man is continuing.
