On November 16 at approximately 11:34 a.m., Halifax Regional Police attended an address in the 0-100 block of Rolieka Drive, Dartmouth to arrest a man on an outstanding warrant. When police communicated with the man, he made threats toward police and stated he was armed with a knife. The residence was contained and attempts were made to talk to the man. Negotiations continued throughout the afternoon. At approximately 5:10 p.m., the man, who was the lone occupant of the dwelling, lit a fire inside. Members of the Emergency Response Team made entry, arrested the man and extinguished the fire. The investigation is still ongoing.
