Halifax Regional Police has re-opened Barrington Street to both pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
The suspicious package, a black backpack, was located in the 1600 block of Barrington Street around 9:30 a.m. this morning. After the area was cordoned by police, the owner of the backpack approached officers on scene and advised that he forgot the backpack at that location earlier in the morning. Once the backpack was deemed safe, it was returned to the owner.
No charges are anticipated in this incident
