A man facing child pornography charges was arrested yesterday for breaching a court-imposed order.

On August 8, 2014, investigators assigned to the Integrated Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit, conducted the search of a residence in the 200 block of Spencer Avenue in Halifax. Thirty-nine-year-old Bernard Raymond Dalton was arrested at the scene and subsequently charged with making available child pornography, accessing child pornography and possession of child pornography. He was released by the courts on a Recognizance and placed under a number of conditions, namely to abstain from communicating with children under the age of 16, not be at any place where children may be reasonably expected to be present and not be at any daycare, school ground, playground or community center.

Yesterday, officers received information that Bernard Dalton was employed by an eating establishment on Herring Cove Road in Halifax. The investigation revealed that as part of his employment he was in close proximity to children while in the restaurant. There no evidence to suggest that he assaulted or made contact with any children at the restaurant.

Bernard Raymond Dalton was arrested without incident at a residence on North Street in Halifax at approximately 10 p.m., last night. He was held in custody overnight and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face nine counts of breach of Recognizance.
