A man and a woman have been arrested following two commercial break and enter yesterday.

At 10:15 p.m., officers responded to a break and enter in-progress at Henry’s located at 120 Susie Lake Crescent in Halifax. A man, accompanied by another individual, drove to the store in a white pick-up truck, smashed the front door of the business and stole a large quantity of cameras before fleeing the area in the same pick-up truck. Attempts to locate them were unsuccessful.

At 11:25 p.m., while officers were investigating the first break, a second call of a break and enter in-progress was received from Henry’s located at 51 Gale Terrace in Dartmouth. A man and a woman drove to the store in a white pickup truck, and using the truck, ripped the front doors off of the store. A quantity of cameras was taken from the business and the suspects fled in the pickup truck before officers arrived on scene.

At 1:45 a.m., an officer on patrol located the vehicle that is believed to be involved in both incidents parked outside a hotel near Stanfield International Airport. Subsequent investigation led officers to the Truro area where both suspects were arrested without incident. The stolen merchandise was also recovered.

A 30-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, both from Edmonton, Alberta, are currently in custody and being interviewed by investigators. The investigation is continuing and charges are anticipated.
