A man is facing charges after breaking into a home overnight in Halifax.
At 3:34 a.m., officers responded to a break and enter in the 1200 block of South Park Street. A woman was asleep in her residence and awoke to find a man in her bedroom rummaging through her belongings. When the man realized that the woman was awake, he left the apartment with her purse. The woman was not injured during this incident. A suspect was located nearby with the help of a K-9 unit and the purse was also recovered.
A 62-year-old Halifax man is being held in custody and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face charges of break and enter, trespass by night, theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen property under $5,000.
