Halifax Regional Police has concluded the investigation into a collision that occurred in Halifax last month.                   

On September 10 at 8:38 p.m., police responded to a car/pedestrian collision at the intersection of Regency Park and Lacewood Drives. A 70-year-old man was crossing the roadway on a walk light when he was struck by a car driven by a 39-year-old woman turning left from Regency Park Drive onto Lacewood Drive. The man suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital by EHS for treatment. 

Yesterday, investigators met with the 39-year-old female driver and issued her a summary offence ticket under the Motor Vehicle Act for failing to yield the right of way to a pedestrian on green light. This ticket carries a fine of $176.45 upon conviction.

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a car/pedestrian collision that occurred this morning in Halifax. 

At 8:38 a.m., police responded to a car/pedestrian collision at the intersection of Regency Park and Lacewood Drives. A 70-year-old man was crossing the roadway at this location when he was struck by a car driven by a 39-year old woman turning left from Regency Park Drive onto Lacewood Drive. The man suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital by EHS for treatment. 

Halifax Regional Police Collision Investigation Unit is on scene. Lacewood Drive westbound traffic is currently being redirected northbound onto Parkland Drive. At this point, it is not clear if the man was in a crosswalk. Police are asking any witnesses to this incident to contact them at 902-490-5020.
