Charges laid in two separate drug searches

Three people face charges in relation to two separate drug searches which were conducted in HRM on Friday, May 9.

At 9:10 p.m. officers assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated Drug Unit executed a search warrant at an apartment in the 0-100 block of Lakecrest Drive in Dartmouth. Officers seized a quantity of crack cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and cash. A 44-year-old Dartmouth man was arrested at the scene without incident. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on June 24 to face two counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

At 9:20 p.m., officers assigned to the West Quick Response Unit executed a search warrant at an apartment in the 0-100 block of Dawn Street in Halifax. They seized a quantity of cocaine, prescription pills, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and cash. A man and a woman were arrested at the scene without incident. A 45-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman, both from Halifax, each face three counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking. They are both scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date.
