A man faces a child pornography charge after a search of a Halifax residence last week.
On November 23, 2016, police began an investigation after receiving information regarding online child pornography. At 8:05 a.m. on April 26, 2017, investigators in the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division conducted a search of a residence in the 100 block of Alabaster Way and seized a number of electronic devices for forensic analysis.
At 9:15 a.m. on April 26, 27-year-old Brandon Daniel Beneteau of Halifax was arrested without incident at a business in the 600 block of Wright Avenue in Dartmouth. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on June 6 to face one count of possession of child pornography.
