Child struck in Dartmouth parking lot

Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of child being struck in a parking lot this morning.At 8:24 a.m., a 36-year-old woman was preparing to back into a parking spot at Ian Forsyth School when an eight-year-old boy ran out from a grassy embankment and was struck as the woman began to back in. The vehicle immediately stopped and assisted the young boy until police and EHS arrived. The boy was transported to the IWK by ambulance where he was treated for minor injuries and released.   

 As a result of the investigation, no charges are pending.
