Halifax Regional Police has contacted the Nova Scotia Serious Incident Response Team, or SiRT, regarding a motor vehicle crash that occurred earlier this morning in Dartmouth.

At 11:10 a.m., police received a report that a vehicle stolen in the Windsor area on June 5 was travelling on Highway 111 towards Dartmouth. Several HRP and RCMP officers responded to the area and located the stolen vehicle at Wyse and Windmill Roads. The female driver failed to stop for police and proceeded northbound on Windmill Road at a low rate of speed. The pursuit was called off on Princess Margaret Boulevard after the driver hit a marked RCMP patrol vehicle. The driver subsequently proceeded further down Princess Margaret Boulevard where she lost control at Killkee Gate and collided head-on with a power pole. The female driver was transported to hospital by EHS with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

As this crash resulted in undetermined injuries following police involvement, Halifax Regional Police consulted with SiRT and we, and they, are awaiting information on the woman’s injuries to determine whether it meets their mandate.
