Collision involving a pedestrian GO#21-88178

UPDATE: Robie Street has now been re-opened.

On July 21 at approximately 9:30 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian at Robie Street and Pepperell Street in Halifax.

It was reported that a vehicle travelling on Robie Street struck a pedestrian and failed to remain on scene. Police with the help of witnesses were able to locate the vehicle involved and the driver a short distance away. Police have a suspect in custody. The injured pedestrian was transported to the QE2 hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.

Traffic southbound on Robie Street between Quinpool Road and Shirley Street will be closed while Police Forensic Identification and Accident Investigation Services process the scene. An update will be provided once re-opened.
