Thursday, June 11, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – Community members of all ages will come together on Sunday, June 14, to transform the back of Dartmouth’s Findlay Community Centre into The Findlay Wall, an outdoor film screening space.

The day will be spent painting the wall with a mural to frame the screen. Artist Lee Cripps designed the mural with community input and support from the Halifax Regional Municipality’s Neighbourhood Placemaking program.

Residents are invited to take part in the activities, including a celebratory BBQ and a visit from the municipality’s mobile bike and skateboard park. The event gets going at 10 a.m. behind the recreation centre at 26 Elliot St. in Dartmouth and will wrap up at about 4 p.m.

In the event of bad weather, all activities will be moved to the same time on Sunday, June 21. The first film screening is scheduled for Aug. 8.
