The Halifax Regional Police Accident Investigation Unit continues to investigate a vehicle crash this morning in Dartmouth.

At 4:57 a.m., police responded to a crash on Highway 111 near the Victoria Road overpass. A vehicle that was traveling east bound lost control and flipped onto its roof. Upon arrival, officers located a 56-year-old woman who had been ejected from the vehicle and a 54-year-old man who was located inside the vehicle. Both were taken to hospital with what are believed to be significant but non life-threatening injuries. The crash resulted in the closure to the approach to the MacKay Bridge for almost five hours which caused significant traffic disruptions during the morning commute.

The investigation is on-going and while investigators believe speed may have been a contributing factor no decision on charges has been made.
