A man sought by police for using a number of stolen credit cards has been arrested.
Since December 13, 2014, Halifax Regional Police has received a number of reports of stolen/lost credit cards that investigators believed are related. In each case, the victim was unsure how and where the loss/theft occurred. The stolen credit cards were used to purchase a number of items, including alcohol and prepaid gift cards, and most of the purchases were made in the Quinpool Road area.
On February 26, police released pictures of a suspect taken from video surveillance. Following this, police received several tips from the public which led to the suspect being identified. Yesterday at 8:45 p.m., officers assigned to the West Quick Response Unit arrested a man without incident at a residence on Dawn Street in Halifax. They arrested a second man who is also believed to be involved in these incidents.
Fifty-six-year-old Rocco Wade Jones of Halifax was held in custody overnight. He will appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face 10 counts of fraud, five counts of possession and use of stolen credit cards and one count each of possession of property obtained by crime and break and enter.
Twenty-nine-year-old Joshua Mitchell Zinck of Halifax was also held in custody overnight. He will appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face nine counts of fraud and one count each of possession and use of stolen credit cards, possession of property obtained by crime and break and enter.

The Financial Crime Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in several credit card frauds.
Since December 13, 2014, Halifax Regional Police have received six reports of stolen/lost credit cards that investigators believe are related. In each case, the victim was unsure how and where the loss/theft occurred. The stolen credit cards were used to purchase a number of items, including alcohol and prepaid gift cards, and most of the purchases were made in the Quinpool Road area.
Investigators are releasing five pictures of the suspect who used the stolen cards. He is described as a black man in his 40’s, 5’7” and 165 lbs. In most of the pictures, he was wearing a dark toque and a dark winter jacket.
Anyone with information about this suspect is asked to call police at 902-490-5016. Investigators remind business owners to call police immediately at 902-490-5020 if they believe someone is using a stolen credit card.
