Halifax Regional Police is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the individuals responsible for a rash of break and enters that occurred recently in Dartmouth.

Over the last three weeks, there have been ten daytime residential break and enters in the area bordered by Woodlawn Road, Mount Edward Road and Main Street. It appears that criminals are knocking on front doors to see if anyone is home. If someone answers, they ask if a certain person is there and then move onto another house. If no one answers, they break into the residence through the front door, take valuables and leave through the back of the residence.

If you have experienced a similar incident, please call police. If you observe suspicious activity in your neighborhood, make note of  the person including height, weight, clothing and other details. Take a look to see if there is a vehicle parked nearby and try to get a license plate number, and make and model of the vehicle. Always call police and never take matters into your own hands.
