Death ruled a homicide

The suspicious death that occurred yesterday afternoon in Halifax has been ruled a homicide. 

At approximately 12:16 p.m. Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of an unresponsive male in an apartment building on Autumn Drive. Responding officers located a deceased male inside. 

Yesterday afternoon a 25-year-old man was taken into custody in an apartment in the 5000 block of Inglis Street and is currently in police custody.

An autopsy is scheduled to be conducted today by the Medical Examiner’s Office. The identity of the victim will be withheld pending positive identification as well as next of kin notification. 

Investigators in the Homicide Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are continuing to investigate the death. They are seeking the public’s assistance and are asking anyone with information on the incident to call 902-490-5016.
