Downtown assault – suspect pictures

Police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a serious assault which occurred on June 15 in Halifax.

At approximately 3:56 a.m., a 24-year-old man was standing outside the Toothy Moose bar located at 1661 Argyle Street in Halifax with two women. The victim was approached by another man, who pushed his way by the women and punched the victim in the face without provocation. The victim fell to the ground and the man left on foot with another woman. The victim was transported to hospital by friends and contacted police later that morning. The victim suffered serious facial injuries, including a broken jaw.

Police are releasing two pictures of the suspect taken from video surveillance in the area. He is described as a black man in his twenties, 5’10” with a small build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black shirt, brown shorts, black sneakers and white socks.
