A man and a woman face charges after a drug search this weekend in Dartmouth.

On April 26, at 6:40 p.m., officers assigned to the East Quick Response Unit (QRU) conducted a traffic stop in the 0-100 block of Caledonia Road. Two occupants were arrested and a search of the vehicle resulted in cocaine being seized. Following the traffic stop, East QRU officers, assisted by members of the HRP/RCMP Integrated Drug Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence in the same block and seized a quantity of cocaine, cash and drug paraphernalia.

Thirty-two-year-old Robin Rohit Bannerjee and 45-year-old Sheri Holman, both of Dartmouth, are each charged with two counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking. Both were released from custody and will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on May 29, 2013.

Drug activity often involves violence that puts innocent citizens at risk and is detrimental to the overall safety of our communities. The HRP/RCMP Integrated Drug Unit investigates complaints and targets people involved in the purchase and sale of drugs. Citizens are encouraged to report drug activity to police at 490-5020.
