Two people face drug charges after a traffic stop last night in Dartmouth.

At approximately 8:30 p.m. officers assigned to the East Quick Response Unit conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of Albro Lake Road. A 26-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman were arrested without incident and a search of the truck resulted in the seizure of a quantity of crack cocaine and cash. Both individuals face a charge of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking and are scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on July 18, 2012.

Our Quick Response Units are an important part of the Halifax Regional Police crime reduction strategy, with a separate unit for each of our three divisions. The members in these units usually work in a plain clothes capacity and address crime and quality-of-life issues.
